JOB: NYSE Market, Inc. seeks Data Architect and Solutions Manager in New York, NY to perform application development in a multi-vendor/multi-technology storage, database and analysis tool, data architecture environment to support NYSE Big Data, with a focus on back-end extract, transform, load (ETL) development and integration of large federated data stores that span across a number of file systems, database systems and environments, including Unix/Linux, Perl, Java, SQL, XML and Shell scripting. Design, build and operate standard, reusable, high-performance and maintainable systems. Support daily, weekend and off-hour operational support of ETL batch jobs. Liaise and consult with NYSE customers to support heavy data management and data processing functions to accommodate the requirements of product owners and clients. Support NYSE Big Data solutions integration and architecture. Design and develop data convertors/adaptors. Integrate Big Data solutions with data warehouse and analytics solutions. Design and develop ETL components. Perform data analysis, data cleansing and data transformation, including parsing, mapping and serialization processes. Work with other development groups to manage Metadata Architecture.  Performance tune ETL processes as well as SQL queries to extract information from databases. Utilize SQL (Netezza, Greenplum, Teradata, Sybase), Perl, C, Data Modeling, ETL tools, Scheduling tools, query tools and reporting tools.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in architectural data design, data reporting and application development at a global financial institution. Prior experience must include analyzing trades and developing systems to analyze data, as well as building data warehouses to analyze regulatory, market and surveillance data; designing and developing software applications for distributed information management issues in the financial industry by utilizing conceptual data modeling, enterprise data modeling, logical data modeling, physical data modeling, enterprise data warehouse design and metadata management; performing data analysis, data cleansing and data transformation, including parsing, mapping, and serialization processes; performance tuning ETL processes, stored procedures as well as SQL queries to extract information from databases; utilizing OLTP Databases, such as Sybase or Oracle 10g, and VLDM Database Systems, such as Netezza, Teradata, DB2 or Greenplum; enhancing and maintaining complex legacy Perl scripts, object oriented programming, shell scripting, real-time transaction and message processing, C, C++, XML message parsing/processing, Linux and Solaris.
